About Awardee
Awardee shows every open South African government tender, free, and then what happened after it closed: who bid, what they charged and who won.
Where the data comes from
- Open tenders: National Treasury's eTenders portal, read every day. 2,211 were open on 18 October 2026. Each tender page links to its documents on eTenders.
- Municipal quotations: requests for quotation that municipalities advertise only on their own websites or supplier portals (Ethekwini Metropolitan Municipality, George Municipality, Buffalo City Metropolitan Municipality, City of Ekurhuleni, City of Cape Town, Msunduzi Local Municipality, Stellenbosch Municipality), read every day. 588 were open on 18 October 2026. Each one links to where it was advertised.
- Bid results: the bid opening registers and award notices that municipalities publish on their own websites. Awardee has checked 3,011 tenders so far (55,172 bids). Scanned and handwritten lists are typed up by computer and double-checked, and every result links to the original document.
- Buyer records: eTenders' own counts of each buyer's awarded, closed and cancelled tenders.
- Rules and guides: the gazetted regulations and National Treasury's own pages, cited and dated on every guide.
Independent, not government
Awardee is not a government website and is not connected to National Treasury or any buyer. Always confirm a tender's details with the buyer, and work from the buyer's latest documents.
What Awardee never shows
Awardee shows organisations, never personal contact details. Contact names, email addresses and phone numbers in tender listings are removed before anything is stored, and officials' names are never published.
